Description

The Receiver integrates a powerful alarm engine which allows defining a set of actions to be triggered in case of an alarm event being detected. The alarms are mainly assigned to critical conditions and signal quality characteristics, for example, signal loss, low MER, high frequency shifts, etc.

By defining properties for each Alarm, a user can specify how exactly the alarm event should be processed: by sending an SNMP trap, email notification or just calling a pop-up window on the Receiver UI. For available alarm properties, please refer to Figure 1Alarm Management - available through Control Panel -> Alarms -> Alarm Properties.
